Executive Director

The LATA Board of Directors named Mark West to serve as Executive Director, effective January 1, 2018. Mark West joined the LATA team in July 2017 as its Legislative Director and then as Executive Director beginning January 1, 2018. In March 2017, Mr. West retired from the Ascension Parish Sales and Use Tax Authority after 27 years as its Sales Tax Administrator. During his time with Ascension, he was a proud and active member of LATA and served as its President in 1999 and 2012. Prior to being a local sales tax collector, Mr. West worked for the Louisiana Department of Revenue from 1984 to 1990 as a sales tax auditor and a senior agent. Mr. West is looking forward to advancing the vision of the LATA Officers and its Board of Directors in assisting the LATA membership and business community.
