The West Baton Rouge Parish Revenue Department has the privilege of hosting the 52nd annual LATA
Conference in New Orleans at Harrah’s, AAA Four Diamond Award-winning hotel resort, December 5 – 7, 2018. Conveniently located at 228 Poydras St, Harrah’s Hotel is in the heart of the city placing you within a quick walk of exceptional cuisine, art centers, museums, shopping, infamous nightlife and all this exciting venue has to offer. Just outside Harrah’s Hotel is the entrance to Fulton Street where you’ll find fun outdoor activities free to the public, including the annual “Miracle on Fulton Street” with faux snow every hour on the hour, a creative light display and live entertainment.

Harrah’s is a popular destination and space is limited, so please make your reservations early! You may call in reservations to the Reservation Center at 1-877-466-7847, but please note that all reservations made via the telephone call center will be assessed an additional $15 fee per reservation. Callers should use group code S12LAT8 when making reservations. Discounted day & overnight parking are also available at Harrah’s Parking Garage at the rates of $5 per day for Self-Parking and $10 Valet Parking. The group rate will be available for reservations made until November 20, 2018.
Registration forms are being sent via email through WildApricot. Early registration is $300 for members and $350 for non-members. A late fee of $25 will be added to registrations received after November 16, 2018 so please register early! Guests are welcome, but there will be a $100 guest registration fee.
For General Session we have a number of speakers addressing current topics. Featuring Kimberly L. Robinson, LDR Secretary of Revenue, Russell “Rusty” J. Stutes, Jr., of Stutes & Lavergne Law Firm, J. Roger Bergeron, Executive Director of Louisiana Uniform Local Sales Tax Board, Luke Morris, LDR Assistant Secretary of the Office of Legal Affairs and Drew Talbot with the ever popular Fox & Hound.
Join us Wednesday at 9:30 am for a group rendezvous at Fulton Plaza before taking a quick stroll down the Riverwalk to board the Creole Queen for a Historic River Cruise. The morning cruise focuses on 300 years of New Orleans history which is narrated as you sail downriver. It includes a stop off at the Chalmette Battlefield for an optional guided tour or, stay onboard and take in the New Orleans skyline while listening to the easy sounds of light jazz. Registration fee is $60 and includes the cruise, a guided tour, buffet lunch and bottomless mimosas.
Wednesday night we have plans to laissez les bon temps rouler at Fulton Alley, a charming and luxurious gaming parlor and prohibition–style cocktail lounge within a block of the hotel. Enjoy Southern-American fare, drinks, bowling, games and more. On Thursday, make plans to join us for a “Soiree in the Vieux Carre”, including a cocktail reception in the grand parlor of Harrah’s Theater, followed by a banquet dinner, and music by MoJEAUX; locally known as the South’s Premier Party Band and the official Party Band of the New Orleans Saints!
