The Natchitoches Tax Commission has the privilege of hosting the ist Quarter 2019 LATA Conference in Natchitoches at the Natchitoches Event Center, March 6-7, 2019. Conveniently located at 750 Second Street in the heart of the Oldest Permanent Settlement in the Louisiana Purchase Territory and in the middle of the 33-block National Historic Landmark District, one of only two in the entire state of Louisiana. The Natchitoches Event Center is also within walking distance of scenic Cane River Lake, Beau Jardin water gardens, unforgettable shopping at downtown shops and boutiques, including the oldest continuously operated business in Natchitoches-Kaffie-Frederick Mercantile-established in 1863 as well as delicious cuisine at local restaurants and Natchitoches’ newly opened downtown anchor hotel, Chateau Saint Denis, the largest inn in downtown and home of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum.

Additional rooms will be available at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Natchitoches, 150 Hayes Ave., which is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Cane River National Heritage Area. This hotel is 9.7 miles from Los Adaes State Historic Site and 13.8 miles from Cane River Creole National Historical Park. Registration forms are being sent via email through WildApricot. Early registration is $225 for members and $275 for non-members. A late fee of $25 will be added to registrations received after February 20, 2019 so please register early. Guests are welcome, but there will be a $50 guest registration fee.
Join us Wednesday at Lounge 1714 located in Chateau St. Denis Hotel for drinks and hors d’oeuvres before taking a quick stroll down Front Street to view a beautiful display of fireworks by Pyroman, L.L.C. at 7 p.m. Once the fireworks are over you are free to enjoy the restaurants available in the downtown area. Thursday evening will include a cocktail reception in the Mccullen Hall Ballroom of the Natchitoches Event Center, followed by a buffet dinner and entertainment.
